About

Why I built it

I collect coins and I deal coins. On a normal day I would have ten different websites open to answer ten simple questions: where is silver right now, what is this coin worth in metal, is this date a key, how many coins are in a roll. I wanted one site that had it all, laid out the way I actually use it at home, at the bank or behind a table at a show.

So I built it, mostly for myself. If it saves you a few tabs too, even better.

Who it’s for

Everything is meant to be simple enough for anyone to use: no account, no sign-up and as little jargon as possible.

Where the name comes from

Change jingles in your pocket, and a piggy bank is where it ends up. I was looking for a domain name, JinglePig rolled off the tongue, and I kept it.

What’s coming

I’m building as I go, so there are no promised dates, but these are on the list:

  • Free accounts, so you can keep a collection or want list and sort it your way
  • A helper that makes it faster to list coins for sale online, such as on eBay
  • More coin pages, sorting sheets and guides, including more on coin roll hunting
  • Maybe a place for collectors and roll hunters to talk shop

Where the numbers come from

Every melt value shows its math. How We Calculate explains the formulas, where prices and coin specifications come from and what the price labels mean. JinglePig is for information only, so please read the Disclaimer and Terms of Use and always confirm a current price before you buy or sell.

Say hello

Have an idea, a tool you wish existed, or a coin you think is missing? Send a message. I read every one.
